This day saw us leave Moab, Utah and drive to St. George, Utah via I-70. Gorgeous weather and a beautiful fall day to enjoy rolling down the highway. We are headed for an adventure in Zion National Park. I have lived in Utah many years and never seen some of the most beautiful places in the world that are in my own back yard. Sound familiar?
Things I will remember from Moab...

Note to self: After it rains the campground will look different. While it may make beautiful impromptu waterfalls, it also makes mud and giant puddles in the lowest spots. If you look around, you may find you are camped in a potential mud puddle that is no longer a potential puddle. If you are in a slot canyon when this rain happens, you may find yourself suddenly drowned.
The rain splashed mud all over my boots stashed under the trailer in an artistic and folksy way. I might win a ribbon at the County Fair photography contest, but it was still mud.
I will remember dune buggy rides to fantastic overlooks. If I had to hike or mountain bike I would never be able to see these sights. Thank goodness for horsepower and a few back roads.
Campground dinners! Things just taste better with dirt.
Stunning scenery... fire and rain...
Complete with an EPA Superfund clean-up site that had a truck tip over and spill and shut the site down when we were there. Don't think that just because a place is beautiful that it is safe for you, or from you. Right on the Colorado River. Fire and rain.
But most importantly...
Time spent with trusted friends who can be around me and put up with me and still be my friend (that goes double for my trusted companion). Thanks. Seriously. Thank you for an awesome time.
But wait! Zion Canyon awaits!

What a great trip. I loved it. Can't wait to do it again. I love the shot of the tree in the water. How did you think of that?
Someone pointed at it and said, "Take a picture of that." My genius is sometimes I listen.
